Welcome back as we delve into the “difficult second album”. This weeks’ challenge is three photos taken ‘through or from a window’. The usual rules apply, iPhone or Camera. My friend James has decided to join the challenge, so check out @jharriss.esq on Insta!
Week 2 - View From A Window

Location 1 - Home (by the Thames Barrier, London)
Typical.
I get up early on a Sunday morning and head into London to shoot the sunrise from London Bridge. Whilst the sunrise was nice enough, it didn’t really turn into to anything dramatic.
So after exchanging pleasantries with some other photographers, I decided to move onto shots for this weeks’ challenge and idea number 1 - capturing Tower Bridge from the Upper Deck of a bus. A most creative and brilliant idea I hear you cry! However, I’d forgotten just one tiny, tiny detail… bus drivers near the end of their route don’t exactly hang about. One totally blurry and one ‘not quite sharp’ photo later and the bus was pulling into London Bridge Station.
The only sensible remaining option was a bacon and egg sarnie and coffee.
Next morning, safely ensconced in the study and wading through emails, things started to go orange. Thankfully my brain clicked into gear, I realised what was going on and legged it into the lounge. Quite the show!
You know it's something quite special when you can hear your neighbours calling to their other halves to "come out quickly" to see what Mother Nature has been up to.

Location 2 - The Office
I’m very fortunate to work in ‘the Walkie Talkie’ building in the City of London (the one with the Sky Garden) which means not only fantastic views but also the ability to witness amazing sunrises over London if I can get up early enough.
I'm not sure just how many photos I took that morning, so we'll settle for 'a lot'.
Location 3 - The Riverside Museum, Glasgow
I’m not really a fan of museums as a rule, but I am fond of architecture and particularly that of Zaha Hadid. I also like cars and those of a vintage disposition, so Glasgow's Riverside Museum was a must.
The design of the building is just fabulous as are the collection of cars and how they are presented. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Glasgow. (https://www.visitscotland.com/info/see-do/riverside-museum-p995001)
So the last entry for this week is actually two photos - I couldn’t decide which I preferred and neither could a few friends - so a brucey bonus it is. Just click the arrow in the photo to see the other pic.
In Summary…
Many ideas just didn’t work on this occasion - train windows and one from the plane as I landed back in London To name a few. However, the phone proved super useful and capable and it was a good exercise in thinking about things differently.
Two challenges down, 50 to go :)
