We’ve made it to the third episode! Thanks to Emma, James and Monika for joining the challenge with me. You can see their photos in the comments section of the previous entries. Onwards and upwards :)
Week Three - Architectural Details
And now, as they say, for something completely different. This week’s challenge is all about capturing a snippet of a building rather than its entirety, to highlight one aspect of the design.

Location 1 - The Riverside Museum, Glasgow
As per last week’s confession, I’m a huge fan of Zaha Hadid‘s designs and this building has so many great angles and features. The moody sky was a nice bonus too.
This building appears very different depending on weather and lighting conditions, so I can’t wait to return to Glasgow to see it in a new light.

Location 2 - Queen Street Station, Glasgow
I had passed by this building at least ten times (and even taken a train from there) and it hadn’t stood out until bathed in sunlight. Quite the transformation, as indeed is the redesign of station, completed in October 2021.

Location 3 - The Design District, North Greenwich
Back on home turf and very thankful for a sunny day giving those reflections a chance to shine. The reflection of one building seems to merge into the other, making the metal zing.
There are a huge variety of styles and materials used in this area, both residential and commercial. The price for the studio spaces is kept deliberately low to enable creative Londoners a great and inexpensive place to work.
There is a lot to see here and some great food options, so definitely worth a visit.
In summary…
Probably not everybody’s cup of tea, but it’s good to see something from a different perspective or notice a previously missed detail.

I've been reluctant to share this pic as I'm not entirely sure it meets the brief. But it's the closest thing I've got, and I like it for many reasons - mostly that I got it without falling over on the Thames Clipper.
